<p>Sebastian Huber und Devonni Reed sind die Rückkehrer Nummer acht und neun</p>
<p>Die Dresden Monarchs führen ihren Weg der Kontinuität und Nachhaltigkeit fort und begrüßen zwei weitere Rückkehrer für die Defense. Mit Sebastian Huber und Devonni Reed spielen auch in der neuen Saison der effect®️ ENERGY GFL zwei ambitionierte Defensiv-Akteure für die Königlichen.</p>
<p>„Devonni geht jetzt in seine dritte Saison bei uns, das Gesamtpaket spricht einfach für ihn. Er ist sehr vielseitig einsetzbar, identifiziert sich sehr mit dem Verein und der Stadt Dresden. Er hat aber in den vergangenen Jahren noch nicht alles gezeigt, was er kann. Wir erwarten diese Saison noch einmal einen deutlichen Leistungssprung, denn sein Potenzial ist noch nicht ausgeschöpft“, erklärt Defense Coordinator Martin Schmidt.</p>
<p>Devonni Reed spielte in der Saison 2024 erstmals für die Monarchs. In 13 Partien erzielte der aus Detroit (Michigan) stammende Defensive Back 63 Tackles sowie jeweils einen Quarterback-Sack, einen Forced Fumble und eine Interception. Vergangene Saison kamen für den 1,83 Meter großen und 89 Kilogramm schweren US-Amerikaner in 14 Spielen 60 Tackles sowie zwei Tackles for Loss und zwei Interceptions dazu.</p>
<p>Linebacker Sebastian Huber stieß vergangene Spielzeit erst nach der Sommerpause zu den Königlichen und sammelte in sechs verbliebenen Spielen 20,5 Tackles, drei Tackles for Loss sowie einen Quarterback-Sack. Der 1,84 Meter große und 102 Kilogramm schwere Österreicher ist zusammen mit Reed bereits der neunte internationale Spieler, der 2026 zu den Monarchs zurückkehrt.</p>
<p>„Sebastian ist extrem wissbegierig und ein absoluter Charakterkopf. Er passt perfekt zu den Dresden Monarchs und in unsere Linebacker-Crew, weil er auch noch einmal eine andere Qualität reinbringt – uns vielseitiger macht. Er kam vergangenes Jahr spät zu uns, hat aber nicht zuletzt in den Play-Offs gezeigt, welche Qualitäten er mitbringt“, erklärt Defense Coordinator Martin Schmidt.</p>
