</h1> <p>Mit Finn Oppermann können die Braunschweig Lions auch in der Saison 2026 auf einen echten Leistungsträger und eines der Aushängeschilder des Braunschweiger Footballs bauen.</p> <p>Seine Football-Laufbahn begann Finn Oppermann 2016 als Runningback bei den Junior Lions U16 des 1. FFC Braunschweig e. V. Über die Junior Lions U19 sowie die Niedersachsenauswahl der Mustangs, mit der er 2017 das Jugendländerturnier gewann, führte sein Weg schließlich 2021 in die GFL.</p> <p>Das Ziel des 1,78 Meter großen und 92 Kilogramm schweren Offensivspielers war es von Beginn an, möglichst viel zu lernen und sich seinen Platz im Team der Lions zu erarbeiten. Dieses Ziel erreichte er bereits in seiner ersten Saison: Oppermann erhielt früh Einsatzzeit in den Special Teams sowie als Runningback in der Offense.</p> <p>In der Saison 2022 machte er den nächsten Entwicklungsschritt. Er etablierte sich nicht nur als feste Größe in der Rotation auf der Runningback-Position, sondern wechselte zum Ende der Spielzeit auf die defensive Seite des Balls, wo er auch als Linebacker zu überzeugen wusste.</p> <p>Zur Saison 2023 war der inzwischen 25-Jährige fest in der Defense verankert und zählte zu den Top-Verteidigern des Teams. Gleichzeitig bewies er, dass er auch offensiv weiterhin sein Potenzial abrufen kann – unter anderem mit einer starken Leistung im hart umkämpften Play-off-Viertelfinale in Kempten.</p> <p>Ab 2024 kehrte Finn Oppermann in den Angriff der Löwen zurück und zeigt seitdem seine Vielseitigkeit als Passempfänger sowie als Runningback und Fullback.
