PJ bringt alle Qualitäten mit, die wir auf der Quarterback Position suchen. Er ist ein herausragender Athlet und ein starker Leader für die Offense und das gesamte Team. Kontinuität gerade auf dieser Position zu haben, ist extrem wertvoll und ich freue mich riesig, die Offense in seiner zweiten Saison in Kiel weiter zu entwickeln und an den Erfolg des letzten Jahres anzuknüpfen“, sagt Hurricanes Head Coach Timo Zorn.</p> <p>Settles war in 2025 der erste Quarterback seit 2017, der die Hurricanes wieder bis in die Playoffs führte. In der vergangenen Saison brachte er 206 Pässe für 2.448 Yards und 25 Touchdowns an den Mann. Dazu erlief er selbst neun Touchdowns.</p> <p>Zum ersten Mal seit 2012 (Jeff Welsh 2010-12) gehen die Hurricanes damit eine zweite Saison in Folge mit dem selben Import-Quarterback an den Start. Jährliche Wechsel auf den Importpositionen sind in der GFL keine Seltenheit, daher ist diese Verpflichtung gerade auf der Spielmacherposition für die Canes besonders und ermöglicht eine Kontinuität im Angriffsspiel.</p> <p>Im Frühjahr wird Settles von Nashville nach Kiel reisen für die heiße Phase der Vorbereitung auf den Saisonstart.
